Francis Coppola remembers his grandfather making homemade wine in his basement from Alicante Bouschet grapes shipped from California. Yearning for this nostalgic varietal he grew up with, we went searching for the best Alicante vineyards in the state. Made from fruit of 85-year old vines found in Lodi, our Alicante Bouschet is rich in color, medium-bodied and loaded with lush, jammy fruit flavors.
A medium-bodied texture and fruity aromas of red currants, cherries, leather and spice. Alicante Boushet pairs perfectly with empanadas, pulled pork sandwiches and roasted vegetables!
